2012 and the “End of the Mayan Calendar”
And it will be easier for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle……..
The Mayan Calendar is a system of distinct calendars and almanacs used by the Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. To measure dates over periods longer than 52 years, the Mayans developed the Long Count Calendar that identifies a date by counting the number of days from the Mayan creation date (August 11, 3114 BC in the Gregorian calendar). Misinterpretation of the Long Count Calendar is the basis for the belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012.
The Long Count Calendar serves to remind us that we are all part of the earth, the heavens and each other. The Mayan culture believed in the power of thought to create a better world, blending all physical and metaphysical elements together for the highest good. That theme resonates throughout the complexities of their calendar. Basically, the Mayan Long Calendar speaks of the end of one cycle of time – b’ak’tun – and moving into the next one which will be on December 21, 2012. It is not the end of the world, but the end of the cycle with a number of b’ak’tuns still to come!
A new cycle begins and humankind enters an age of doing things differently at a higher octave, more peacefully and more compassionately. It is the end of the old world and the beginning of a new world, a new society. It could be a beautiful passage or something difficult, depending on how humanity handles it. Either way, the result is a brand new path for humanity for the better.
We should regard the Mayan Calendar as a “meter” of creation and the development of consciousness. It has kept track of the flow of, and the rate and intent of creation. There is only one law – what you pay attention to, you will be conscious of; therefore, you should pay attention to the flow and become attuned and aligned.
The b’ak’tun of 2012 will bring something quite different from global devastation. While there will be a destroying and a falling away, it will not be the destruction of the physical earth. Rather, it is a falling away of anything based in power and greed. We will move into the Age of Ethics and conscious co-creation.
Everything is consciousness. It evolves and it is un-stoppable. It has transpired and it will continue to do so, regardless of the powers that be in force at the time. The Mayans associate aspects of consciousness with each of the b’ak’tuns:
The first was “cellular” with its consciousness called “action/reaction.” This is the period of the first live cells, plants, fish, insects. This was the beginning of life on this planet.
The second age was the Mammalian era, the consciousness of stimulus response. Life embraced animation to organize herds and flocks. The brain developed.
The third age or “familial,” was the age of “stimulus individual.” The brain enlarged and the difference between family and herd was implemented.
The fourth was the “tribal” age and was the time of individualized recognition. We began to speak.
The next cycle was “cultural” in which reason developed. The Shamans come in this age.
The “national cycle” followed and the consciousness was “law.” We began to write.
The “planetary” cycle followed which began around 1735 AD. Its consciousness was that of power – the construction and consolidation of power. This was the beginning of the industrial age and corporations.
The next cycle or that in which we are currently engaged, is “galactic” with its consciousness that of “ethics.” Here we separate morals from ethics. Morals are the rules handed down from our ancestors; ethics derive from inside your heart and shine out into the world.
We are geared to move into the “universal” cycle with “conscious co-creation.” We will awaken and co-create with the universe as knowing creators in December 2012. Anything based in fear, greed or power will fall away. Intuition will guide and we will live and manifest from a place of ethics and integrity. Intuition will be our lifeline. We will let go of all we think we know. We will not live from morals but in ethics and integrity, knowing the right thing to do at the right time.
We will unpack the camel so that it may pass through the eye of the needle. The kingdom of heaven will be created through love and integrity and our manifestations will come through thought and feeling, not work and strife. Follow your heart and think not the worst, but embrace the magical, mystical gift the Mayans will present to us in 2012 and be joyful.
