Chi
Everything in creation is made up of electromagnetic energy vibrating at different frequencies that correspond to sound, light and color.
The existence of electromagnetic fields around every object in the world, is known as an Aura. The Chinese refer to this energy as “Chi” (pronounced “chee”), the vital life force energy of the Universe, present within every living thing.
Chi or qi, is part of a metaphysical, not an empirical belief system. The New Age refers to this energy as ‘subtle energy.’ One of the key concepts related to chi is the concept of harmony. Trouble, whether in the universe or in the body, is a function of disharmony, of things being out of balance and in need of restoration to equilibrium.
Theories of traditional Chinese medicine assert that the body has natural patterns of chi associated with it that circulate in channels called meridians in English. Symptoms of various illnesses are often seen as the product of deficiencies of chi, disrupted (blocked) or unbalanced chi movement through such channels. If chi becomes blocked or its frequency changes due to drugs, stress or acid foods, the body feels pain and becomes unwell. Traditional Chinese Medicine seeks to relieve these imbalances by adjusting the flow of chi in the body using a variety of therapeutic techniques.
This universal energy also exists inside buildings as well as outside the structures. The main goal in feng shui is to channel, or direct the chi inside the space you live or work in, so that it nourishes and supports a good flow of chi inside your body. The quality of chi you want to always have around you is the vibrant, alive, fresh chi that can be effected with proper Feng Shui techniques as opposed to that energy which is sharp, attacking, low or depressing,
The energy of chi emits vibrant, bright colors (the aura), a vibrational frequency and a sound. When chi becomes disturbed, stagnant, imbalanced or depleted, dis-ease and illness begin to take form – the aura becomes darker and discolored, personal frequency vibrates incorrectly. and the energy pathway – the meridians and the chakras – energy centers within the body - become blocked.
If a chakra becomes blocked, specific emotional and physical problems begin. To heal the body, mind and spirit, is to bring the chakras into alignment and balance.
Chakras – their Colors Frequencies and Vibration:
Red - C: Base/Root Chakra – Located at the base of the spine and grounds us in the physical; related to security and survival.
Orange – D: Sacral Chakra – Located beneath the navel; home of creativity, sexuality, hormones and reproduction.
Yellow – E: Solar Plexus Chakra – related to the pancreas and outer adrenal glands and is the seat of our emotions; blockages manifest as anger, sense of victimization and resentment.
Green – F: Heart Chakra - related to the thymus; blockages manifest as heart or immune system problems, lack of compassion.
Blue – G: Throat Chakra – parallel to the thyroid gland; involves communication, with blockages manifesting as such.
Indigo – A: Third Eye Chakra – linked to the pineal gland and connected to the higher self and psychic abilities.
Purple – B: Crown Chakra – located at the top of the head and is our connection to higher spiritual realms.
Chi has been written about and studied for over ten thousand years, from China and Japan to India, the Hawaiian Islands and South America. It is the energy of life itself, recognized as the balance of Yin and Yang that flows through everything in creation. It is at the foundation of many health and fitness practices such as Massage, Yoga, Martial Arts, Reiki, Feng Shui and Acupressure. Chi is more than a magical, mystical concept of the New Age.
“Qi or chi is the source of everything, the building block of all things. Human beings are made of living cells, and when we look into each cell we see a membrane, the nucleus, and so on. Then if you look further into that structure you’ll see atoms – electrons, protons and neutrons. And if you look even further, scientists now tell us that they can see energy there. However, according to the 5,000 year-old Chinese Qigong theory, if you go beyond scientific measurement, this is called the chi level.
